Math Munchers Math Game on TpT!

While making the cute little googly-eye pointers in my last post, I was inspired to create "Math Munchers".  Just like their gator counterparts, they like to devour large numbers.  In this case, furry-monster-pom-pom counters or "arrays".    I have created a game that has two versions:  one for multiplication and one for addition.  Instead of building an array, students could use the pom poms as counters for the addition game.  Differentiation is a breeze!

My third grade peanuts still struggle with multiplication fact fluency a bit and rely a little on arrays to solve problems.  This game allows students to create an array to solve a problem and then compare their product with their partner's practice comparing numbers too!   It is a double duty game, and it's cute!

I personally love this SO much because it really couldn't be easier to implement.  Once you create the "monsters", all you need to do is add pom-poms and print the cards/directions.  Then you are ready to go year after year, and your kiddos will thank you for it.  Monsters add a little whimsy and novelty to practicing facts, and because it's so hands on and colorful, it's sure to make your students happy...and better at their fact fluency in the process!
