Accountable Talk in Partnerships

I love to have my students work together in groups or with partners.  It allows them to consider different viewpoints, to improve their oral speaking skills, and fosters cooperation.  Sometimes, though, it's hard for little people to stay on topic or be respectful to others.  They are still learning how to interact appropriately with others and how to tune out distractions, after all.

I often hand out this sheet to my groups as they disperse as a portable reminder of behavioral expectations!  It gives sentence starters as examples of appropriate ways to interact with the group and respond for the kiddos that may struggle to think of something unprompted.  Hope you enjoy it!
