Classroom Digs {A Work in Progress}

I'm linking up at Blog Hoppin' again today to show off my classroom digs!  I don't start school until next week, so it's kind of a work in progress at the moment.  You will see that I don't have curtains hanging... but they are coming! It just took me a really LONG time to make a decision, so they aren't here in time for the formal unveiling of my classroom.  It's a bummer, but I'll have to let my perfectionism sit on the sidelines for this one.  :)  I just made a few changes to the design this year since I have been WAY more preoccupied with attempting to wrap my mind around teaching two distinct grade levels.  :)   I played around with changing themes all summer.  I even made a few decor packs that I LOVE.   When it all comes down to it though, I just don't have the time for a complete overhaul this year.   I DO like the way everything is progressing with just a few small changes though.  If you look at the first picture, for example, I just added some pink paper, new borders, and a  fluffy pink banner.  Nothing major!  Even still, its amazing how long it takes to redo bulletin boards and organize cabinets.  Seriously!  It's ridiculous, isn't it?!

As you can see, I am not done with all of my bulletin boards.  This one needs new paper!  Stat!

More works in progress...
I'm headed back to school again today to put the icing on the proverbial cake... sans curtains.  I also need to reorganize my bookshelves and try to wrap my mind the logistics of teaching two grade levels.  I am sure I will be there all day, so I better run! Now!  :)  Want to join in the fun?  Don't forget to link up at Blog Hoppin' to show off your own classroom digs!

  3. I love how colorful your room is. You must have 30 students? That is what I have and I'm in a bungalow. It doesn't leave much room for stations/work areas, but you have done a great job with your space! Love it!

  4. I love your room. It looks so roomy and organized! I have a really odd-shaped classroom (kind of a pie shape) with my smart board at a strange angle and have been struggling to get everything the way I like it. I know that I will be constantly changing the arrangement this year!
    I noticed your hand signals above your READ sign. Could you tell me more about them?

  6. I recently added pom poms as well, to "label" each color table. The look so fun and colorful, and remind me of Truffula Trees!

  9. I just love all the bright colors and decorations you're using! I would have never even noticed the curtains if you hadn't said something :) Can't wait to see it all when it comes together, although I think it looks perfect the way it is!!

  10. I love your desk! That is so ironic - I have almost the exact same desk that I just took home last week and am refinishing. I have it stripped sanded and the first coat of stain on it. I'm in love with it and I'm so excited to see someone else appreciate the "antiqueness" of those oldie but goodies! ~ Lisa

  11. I just love your room. It's so bright and colorful. I used to have a teacher's desk just like the one you have. I LOVED it until it decided to start falling apart on me, ha ha. Now I have a small metal one.

  15. Where are those hand signal signs from? Are those in your store? I've been looking for some! Also, are those teal pocket charts I spy? And if so, where did you get them?

    Did I ask you enough questions? :)

  17. What do you have on the kids' desks? Looks like a paper bag with something written on top of it.
