Belly Breathing!
Growing up, I remember hearing adults say, "Take a deep breath and count to ten whenever you get upset." Sometimes, to this day, whenever I feel my temperature rising and my temper flaring, I notice that it's something I do without even thinking about it. I take a HUGE breathe, and I pause before I speak. Not only does this keep me from saying something I shouldn't say, it also helps me calm down. So, it wasn't really a big surprise when our school counselors started to talk to us about the benefits of belly breathing... besides the fact that I didn't know it was a legitimate counseling tool. :) The following video was a big hit with my third graders! Let's face it, you're never too old for Elmo, and if you're a third grade boy you might even fall in love with Colbie Caillat. Let's just say that I have 17 boys in my homeroom, and at least half of them have commented on how pretty and "hot" she is. Goodness gracious! Spring fever is setting in early this year, friends! ENJOY! :)
This is fabulous. I added it to my playlist! Thanks for finding and sharing.
