Five for Friday!

Hey, friends!  I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs for "Five for Friday"!  :)  Are you ready for a hodgepodge of gloriousness?!  Here's a little peek at my week:

1.  I have new bangs that I can wear straight across or swoop to the side, and I kind of love them.

2.  I've been on Instragram for a while now, but I finally got around to actually using it this week.  LOVE IT!  You can follow me on Instagram by clicking the image below!  I don't have much yet, but stay tuned!  :)

3.  I have really wavy, sometimes unruly hair, so admittedly I MAY own too many hair products.  And yes, I realize that this picture makes me look like somewhat persnickety, but my mane is a fickle beast.

4.  I took my dog to the vet yesterday.  It is BY FAR her least favorite place, and the vet is BY FAR her least favorite person, even though he is, in fact, a really nice guy.  {He actually may be the only person in the world that Loralei does not absolutely CRAVE attention from.}  While waiting for our turn, she panted and paced.  At one point, she frantically jumped onto a padded bench in an attempt to hide behind me. She clearly did not understand that half of her body was still visible to the nurse who was laughing uncontrollably, and she clearly did not realize that the ledge behind her could not support the weight or width of a golden retriever.  She totally tried to climb it in a fit of panic.  She literally tried to curl around my shoulders.  Of course, I was a responsible pet owner, and told her to get down, but who am I kidding?  It was totally AFTER I snapped this super blurry picture to show Mr. Wonderful!

5.  At this point, we have 6 more school days before my kiddos will take the Reading OAA.  I stayed after school for a while to prep my room for the big reveal on Monday, and I am SO excited!  We are ready for the BIG Testing Blitz.  It's going to be a FOOTBALL FRENZY!  You'll definitely want to check in later this weekend to see what we've been up to!  In the meantime, Happy Friday!

  2. What is it with taking pictures of our animals at the vet? I totally pull out my phone whenever one of mine is having a "moment" at the vet. Ha!!

I'm getting ready to use your Test Prep Blitz myself! We have 5 days left to prep and practice before our state test, and we're coming back from spring break on Monday.

    Yikes!

I'm excited to hit Dollar Tree tomorrow for a few finishing touches!

  5. I love the big reveal that is going to happen on Monday - the kids are going to be soooo excited! (Sad thing is at my school, you can't do something fun and creative like that unless everyone else in your team does it - I feel some of my mojo being taken away!) So very jealous!

  7. You rock the bangs!!! I have tons of hair things too! Living in Florida and the humidity....need I say more....I leave the house happy and by the time I'm at work it's a frizzy mess!! Any product recommendations??? We are state testing this coming Monday...EEK! I am soooo ready for it to be over and us to get back to some fun! I am not a fan of a 1 week snapshot to tell if the child has made gains:/ I have too many kiddos going through personal things that are interfering with their learning:( My dog HATES the vet...he has had too many surgeries:/ Have a great weekend!

  8. Love your bangs!! I've always had side-bangs and recently cut them shorter than I usually do and have been contemplating the full-on bang thing. I can't decide what to do!! But you definitely rock the bangs!

  9. I love the bangs! They look fantastic. I wish I could wear bangs and look as cute. I'm with you on the supply of hair products. When your hair is as curly as mine, well...it's required. I can't wait to see the reveal! I'm looking for some great ideas for our testing in 3 weeks! Yikes!

  10. Hmm, this reminds me that I need to make a vet appt...luckily my pup doesn't read my blog and won't run and hide right now. I have quite straight hair and I looked around the shower the other day and had 2 shampoos and 3 conditioners....and a bunch of hair products in my bathroom closet. Different products for different situations!

  12. Your story about your dog at the vet made me smile. We have three dogs- three very BIG and hairy and not well behaved outside of our house/yard- dogs and every time I walk in I swear the vet is like "what was this girl thinking?" OY!
Happy weekend! I should be doing other things- but alas- I am on Google Reader!

  13. Awww! Poor Lorelei. She looks so scared in the picture. You could try giving your dog lots of treats before and after every visit to the vet to help curb her nervousness. You could also do practice exams at home, like checking her ears and teeth to help her get used to how the veterinary handles her.
