Strategy Songs: Metacognition Through Music!

I had a little TOO MUCH fun creating songs for reading strategies over the past few weeks!  Some of you MAY remember my "I Can Make an Inference" dance jam from a few weeks ago! ;)  Well, I decided to put a whole packet together with lyrics and songs... and I just uploaded it to my little store if you're interested.  :)  This zip-file contains a 20 page pdf with lyrics for 8 songs and 8 MP3s that correspond!  I can't WAIT to sing even more of these songs with my kiddos!  If you are interested in checking out the file, you can find it HERE!

  1. Love these! Music is incredibly powerful when teaching! I'm sure it will help the children tremendously!

  2. did it! So excited about these songs..I know the one you posted a couple of weeks ago was awesome..can't wait to hear these! :)

  3. I can not sing at all...I would never sing in front of a group of my peers. However...that is all thrown out the window when I'm in the classroom. The kids don't care and respond so well to music. Great packet.

  5. You are so beyond words incredible Amanda! I cannot wait to grab these! =)

My kiddos might not know what to do or think when they can actually hear someone who can sing VERY WELL! =)

    Blessings to you sweet lady.

  6. I am so excited abut this! I love the meta cognition toolkit. I love your tools for teaching students to think about thinking!

  7. I am really excited about this! Can you do the same thing for other comprehension strategies like finding the plot, cause and effect, fact and opinion, and other strategies! I would love to use this in my class.
