Fluency Folders
Fluency is so critical to success in school and in life. Fluency Folders can be used to involve parents in fluency practice nightly or once a week. (I prefer to send it home on Thursdays once we have practiced our passage Monday through Thursday at school.) I put together a resource for my own classroom, but I hope that you will find it useful in your own classrooms! Click on the link below to access the document from Google Docs!
I love the fluency folders. Does this go home with every child and do you send home the weekly story for them to read?
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, this goes home with each kiddo! I send home the passage/poem that we work on for the week for the Lucky Listener to hear. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome idea! I have just started poetry notebooks in my classroom and plan on using those poems for fluency at home as well. I like your idea of sending it home later in the week, after they have practiced it a few times. When do you ask for the "Lucky Listener List" back, then?

LOVE IT! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love this! I could not open the link. Is there a way you could send this to me.

Thank you so much!

I also could not open the link. Would you mind sending it my way too? mparks@chatham.k12.nc.us
ReplyDeleteThis rocks! I cannot wait to use it with students! Thanks for sharing!
Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with some pics to drive the message home a little bit, but instead of that, this is great blog. A fantastic read. I'll certainly be back.
ReplyDeleteNice post. I learn something more difficult on completely different blogs everyday.
ReplyDeleteI would love to use the fluency folders, but the documents would not open for me.. Is there another way to get them?
ReplyDeleteThanks
You have such wonderful ideas...they are awesome! thank you!

Indeed, fluency in speaking a language, like English, will greatly improve one’s future. This will not only help one be able to communicate well his or her thoughts but will certainly help him or her land a job. These Fluency folders you have shared are absolutely amazing and very useful thank you for posting. If all teachers use this or other similar tools as part of their teaching strategies, then kids will certainly be able to improve their speaking skills.
